THE TAKEAWAY
There are two choices to make: the emergency transport benefit and the people included. Ground + Air combines the two transport benefits in one membership.
Ground vs. air ambulance memberships: start with the benefit
A ground ambulance membership focuses on eligible emergency transport by road. An air ambulance membership focuses on eligible helicopter or fixed-wing emergency transport. EMS360 Ground + Air combines those benefits under the applicable Membership Agreement.
Your selected product describes a financial benefit. Emergency professionals determine the transport needed for care. EMS360 does not operate ambulances or dispatch an emergency response.
Compare Ground, Air, and Ground + Air benefits
Ground
The emergency ground ambulance benefit addresses eligible costs for transport by road to the nearest appropriate medical facility, subject to the Membership Agreement.
Air
The emergency air ambulance benefit addresses eligible costs when emergency transport requires a helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft, subject to the Membership Agreement.
Ground + Air
The combined membership includes both emergency transport benefits. It gives you one membership for eligible ground and air ambulance expenses.
These products focus on emergency ambulance transport. They do not add elective transfers, visitor travel, vehicle or pet return, or other travel-assistance benefits. Review the agreement for the specific product you select.
Review your ground and air ambulance insurance coverage
Your health plan may treat ground and air ambulance claims differently. Check each benefit’s deductible, copay, coinsurance, and coverage requirements. A strong benefit for one type of transport does not tell you how the other works.
Federal law generally protects many covered air ambulance services from out-of-network balance billing. Ground ambulance services generally remain outside that federal protection, although state rules may apply. In-network cost sharing may still remain.1
Use those details to identify the expense you want to prepare for. A membership claim must still satisfy the selected benefit’s eligibility rules; an insurer’s decision alone does not establish an EMS360 claim outcome.
Choose Individual, Family, or Household coverage
- Individual: the named member.
- Family: the member, spouse, and eligible dependent children under age 26.
- Household: everyone eligible under Family, plus up to three additional people who live full time at your address.
Keep the covered-person roster accurate. Being related to the member or sharing an address does not automatically place someone on a membership. Have each covered person’s name and date of birth ready, and review the Membership Agreement’s eligibility conditions.
Compare membership prices and provider restrictions
Each product offers monthly and annual billing. Compare the annual amount with 12 monthly payments for the same product and coverage type. Our complete price table makes that comparison easy.
Before purchasing, check the final amount, automatic renewal terms, benefits, exclusions, and state availability. Benefits begin after successful enrollment payment, with no waiting period. Your membership then renews automatically unless cancelled before renewal.
EMS360’s selected emergency transport benefit is not tied to a particular ambulance provider or membership network. That provider independence belongs alongside the agreement’s eligibility rules when you compare options.
